Davidson Launches 2nd Annual Giving Tree Campaign

Team Davidson is proud to launch their 2nd Annual Davidson Giving Tree Initiative. This project focuses on supporting a local nonprofit in our Alaska, Alabama, Colorado, and Florida locations. Through the Davidson Giving Tree Campaign, we are able to join together and provide a Christmas for those that may otherwise not have one. We are pleased to announce the following nonprofits as recipients for this year’s initiative, selected through our employee voting:

Alaska: America’s Vet Dogs- The service dog programs of America’s VetDogs® is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The program was created to provide enhanced mobility and renewed independence to United States veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities, allowing them to once again live with pride and self-reliance. Not only does a service dog provide support with daily activities, it provides the motivation to tackle every day challenges. VetDogs trains and places service dogs for those with physical disabilities; guide dogs for individuals who are blind or have low vision; service dogs to help mitigate the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder; and facility dogs as part of the rehabilitation process in military and VA hospitals.

Alabama: Harris Home for Children- Harris Home for Children is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Harris Home is only emergency crisis service in the state of Alabama, so when children unexpectedly find themselves without a safe space to sleep, or wondering where their next meal will come from, Harris Home for Children is the only place to turn. The Harris Home for Children seeks to provide the highest level of foster care, therapeutic care, and educational services through a variety of programs including their: Residential Program, Basic Residential Program, Transitional Living Program, and Rehabilitation.

Colorado: Angels of America’s Fallen- Angels of America’s Fallen is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by a retired Lt Col with 25 years of service as an enlisted Army field artillery canon crewman, a Marine Corps fighter pilot, and an Air Force Reconnaissance pilot. He created Angels of America’s Fallen in 2012 to address a gap in support he saw for the children of his fallen friends in all branches of the military and first responders. Angels of America’s Fallen is designed to offer positive outlets for the children’s grief during the entire period of these most crucial developmental years.

Florida: Hidle House: Anchorage Children’s Home- Hidle House is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. On any given night up to 20 youth, ages 10-17 years old, are kept off the streets through Hidle House crisis shelter. At Hidle, they focus on providing safe shelter while working with youth to resolve immediate family problems. Often these youth and their families need short-term cooling off periods, up to 21 days.
